WEDDINGS
Vancouver Island Wedding Photographer Lori Brown Photography is there to seamlessly capture your love story.
STYLE
My style as a Vancouver Island wedding photographer is rooted in wedding photojournalism. I capture real-life moments and create high-quality photographic works of your wedding day. I am the wedding photographer for those who don’t want a typical wedding photographer! I use my experience in documentary photography to capture events as they happen and mix that with my style of portraiture which is influenced by high fashion photography. The result is candid and lifestyle images with stylish and contemporary portraits. I ensure images are edited cleanly.

FAQ
My style is rooted in photojournalism. Which means photographing things just as they are. However, during the day I will incorporate posed portraiture but with an emphasis on connection and movement. My clients are typically those who prefer to live in the moment, rather than be camera aware and perfectly posed.
I book up 1-2 years in advance. It is best to book your photographer as soon as you have booked your venue so that you can start planning your timeline. I am able to help with that by letting you know how long each part of a wedding typically takes.
The typical wedding day is 8-10 hours. More if you require travel time between venues or are having a lengthy religious ceremony. Many clients try to squeeze as much as possible into a shorter time frame to save money; however, I have found this to be stressful for all parties and key events do not receive adequate coverage. Good things take time.
Firstly, there is the obvious reason that I cannot be in two places at once – particularly for the bride and groom getting ready and during the ceremony to capture the groom’s face and also all those coming down the aisle.
Secondly, having two photographers allows my clients to receive better photographs. While one photographer captures everything as it happens, the second photographer is free to explore more creative and artistic shots utilizing shadows, flash, reflections, and more. And it allows for more photographs of your guests.
There are many factors that impact the length of time it takes to get your wedding photographs, but plan to wait approximately 4-12 weeks. Weddings in peak summer take longer as I am busy shooting heavily during the summer months. Weddings in any other season will be delivered relatively quickly.
